After one of our events, someone from Surf & Turf Therapy handed us a card. Handwritten, a little smudged, right there in the moment.
“Thank you for donating for a mission. Your sponsorship helps us keep the event free for our community.”
We keep it on the counter at the office. Not in a drawer somewhere. On the counter, where we actually see it.
It’s Not Just About the Truck
Most people know us for the beverage truck showing up, the ice cracking, the first round of margaritas going out. That’s still the fun part, no question. But alongside the weddings and corporate bookings, we’ve been quietly doing something else — showing up for local nonprofits and the missions they’re working on.
It’s not a side project. It’s part of how Rasta Rita operates. We donate to local schools and nonprofits to help them further what they’re already doing, and we offer the margarita truck as a fundraising opportunity — a way for organizations to raise awareness and funds at the same time.
Organizations We’ve Been Glad to Support
Over time, that’s meant standing behind groups like the LA Clippers Foundation, Lift, Meta, Mustard Seed Foundation, Veterans Legal Institute, Friends of CASA, the United States Marine Corps, March of Dimes, CHOC Children’s, Share of Selves, Grant a Wish, Crystal Cove, Leaps & Bounds, and Hoag — along with community moments like the one with Surf & Turf Therapy.
Different missions, different causes. Same answer from us when they ask: yes.
Why We Bother
Rasta Rita is veteran-owned, and that shapes a lot of how we run things. Once you’ve served, you don’t really stop looking for ways to show up for people — the uniform just changes. Supporting the Veterans Legal Institute and the Marine Corps isn’t a coincidence. It’s close to home for us.
We’re a business. We know that. But we also get to choose which businesses we want to be, and “the ones who show up for community missions too” felt like an easy choice.
Same Standard, Different Reason
When we sponsor a nonprofit event or a golf tournament fundraiser, we don’t scale anything down. Guests still get real drinks — Classic Lime, Mango Tajín, whatever fits the event — made by licensed, insured bartenders who know what they’re doing. A fundraiser doesn’t get a lesser version of us. It gets the same one we bring to a wedding on the coast or a corporate holiday party.
Types of Missions We Like Supporting
- Nonprofit fundraisers and awareness events
- Children’s health and wellness organizations
- Veteran-focused organizations
- School fundraisers and youth programs
- Golf tournaments raising money for a cause
- Local community outreach
Basically, if it’s people gathering for a reason worth showing up for, we want to hear about it.
If Your Organization Has Something Coming Up
If you’re with a nonprofit and think we might be a fit for your next fundraiser or event, reach out and tell us what it is. We review these on a case-by-case basis — what the mission is, who it’s helping, what makes sense for us to bring to it.
The Actual Point of All This
We didn’t get into this to collect thank-you cards. But when one shows up, handwritten, a little crooked, from a group that’s just trying to do something good for their community — it reminds us why we bother with all of this beyond the bookings.
That’s the part that sticks. Not the margaritas. The reason behind them.

FAQs
1. Does Rasta Rita sponsor nonprofit events?
Yes. Rasta Rita regularly sponsors nonprofit fundraisers, community missions, and charity events across California, offering the margarita truck as a way to help organizations raise both awareness and funds.
2. How do I request sponsorship for my nonprofit’s fundraiser?
Organizations can reach out directly through Rasta Rita’s website with details about the event, the mission behind it, and how the truck or bartending team could support it. Requests are reviewed individually.
3. Is there a cost difference between a sponsored nonprofit event and a paid booking?
No. Sponsored nonprofit events receive the same licensed and insured bartenders, handcrafted cocktails, and full truck experience as any paid booking — the service standard doesn’t change.
